State Department for Irrigation Signs Cloud Hosting Agreement with Konza Technopolis,on 13th October 2025 for National Irrigation Sector Investment Plan.

State Department for Irrigation led by PS Ephantus Kimotho Kimani - PS and the Konza Technopolis Development Authority ( KoTDA) today signed a landmark Cloud Hosting Services Agreement @konzatech to host the National Irrigation Sector Investment Plan (NISIP) Management Information System (MIS) on the Konza National Cloud Infrastructure. This partnership has secured a robust, government-owned digital environment that will enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in irrigation management across Kenya.
With this signing, the State Department will immediately embark on a nationwide baseline data collection exercise across all the 47 counties, paving the way for full operationalization of the NISIP MIS within six months. The system will empower officers, strengthen coordination with counties and development partners, and deliver measurable results for farmers by providing real-time data on irrigation projects, water use, and financial performance.
The NISIP MIS is not just a technology platform—it is a tool for transformation. It will enable smarter investment decisions, strengthen accountability, and drive Kenya’s food security agenda through efficient, data-driven irrigation management. As the State Department rolls out this system, it reaffirms its commitment to harnessing technology for national progress—ensuring that every drop of water counts and every acre under irrigation contributes to a more resilient, prosperous, and food-secure Kenya.
The signing was witnessed by Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Information, Communications & The Digital Economy KE, Hon. William Kabogo Gitau; Governor Makueni County @Hon. Mutula Kilonzo; Governor Kajiado County @Ole lenku ; Governor Elgeyo-Marakwet County Wisley Rotich ; Principal Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy @John Tanui among senior government officials.
