The State Department meeting with the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC)
The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) team today met with Ephantus Kimotho, CBS, the Principal Secretary for Irrigation, to discuss the progress of the Galana-Kulalu Food Security Project. They also introduced the new CRBC Director, Mr Li fangliang, who succeeded Shi Yucheng.
CRBC is responsible for the infrastructure development of the Galana Dam that will enable the irrigation of over 200,000 acres. Galana Kulalu Food Security Project is part of the government's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which aims to increase maize production by over 12 million bags per year and create over 1 million jobs along the food production value chain.
The Galana Dam, once completed, will stabilize water flow to the farming activities.
