NISIP Pathway 1: Expanded Farmer-Led Irrigation Development (FLID)
Today, the Chief Executive Director of Kenya Climate Ventures (KCV), Mr. Victor Ndiege paid a courtesy call on the Principal Secretary for Irrigation, CPA Ephantus Kimotho, CBS, at his office at Maji House.
The meeting centred on exploring areas of strategic partnership, with a particular focus on the NISIP Pathway 1: Expanded Farmer-Led Irrigation Development (FLID). This pathway is designed to enhance irrigation uptake by individuals and smallholder farming groups pursuing market-oriented agriculture.
Kenya Climate Ventures Limited is a climate impact investment company that supports early and growth stage, gender inclusive, climate smart enterprises. KCV plays a catalytic role in de-risking investments by offering patient, tailored capital along with business development support. The aim is to help these enterprises gain market traction, attract follow-on capital, and drive sustainable impact in underserved markets across Kenya and the region.
This strategic engagement sets the stage for enhanced support to small-scale farmers, particularly through access to micro-financing and enterprise development services. It also aligns with the State Department’s commitment to boosting productivity, strengthening market linkages, and improving livelihoods through irrigation led agricultural transformation.
The PS reaffirmed the Department's dedication to empowering farmers and fostering partnerships that accelerate climate resilient agriculture and market access.
