MEETING WITH KOREA RURAL COMMUNITY CORPORATION

Today, Irrigation Secretary Eng. Vincent Kabuti, OGW, and Secretary for Land Reclamation, Joel Tanui, held a high level meeting with Mr. Shin Hee Sung from the Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC). KRC is a globally recognized institution dedicated to rural development through the efficient use and sustainable management of rural resources. The corporation plays a key role in enhancing agricultural competitiveness and promoting the economic, social, and environmental growth of rural communities.

The discussions centered on the investment and partnership opportunities available within the five NISIP implementation pathways. KRC expressed interest in exploring investment components in both existing irrigation schemes and in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs), which are key to Kenya’s irrigation expansion agenda.

Also in attendance was Mr.Thandi Githae, Director for Land Reclamation and Climate Resilience, who emphasized the importance of building climate-resilient irrigation infrastructure to ensure long-term sustainability and food security.
