The 10-year initiative, covering Eastern, Molo , western, South- West, and farmlands (317,115 hectares), will be officially launched on 24th October 2025. Its objectives include:
• Restoration and protection of the Mau Forest Complex

• Strengthening of policy and governance frameworks

Their discussions focused on collaboration in water harvesting, storage, and distribution, including rehabilitation of 14 dams, provision of water tanks, spring protection, and micro-irrigation kits.

The Mau restoration drive is aligned with the 15-billion tree-growing agenda under the Kenya Kwanza manifesto. Both PS Kimotho and PS Ngeno reaffirmed their commitment to achieving this vision, pledging to work together to deliver tangible results.
